Lola

Lola has been as eye opening experience for me. I always thought I was a dog lover...turns out I am not. Everyone I knew told me not to get a dog, but it was all Sophia had asked for the entire year. Therefore, the girls got Lola for Christmas. This puppy has turned into the money pit. Besides the usual pooping and peeing all over the house....the day after we received her she started vomiting blood and an emergency visit to the vet revealed gastritis to which the vet prescribed an anti worm medication and an antibiotic for 2 weeks, then just as we finished the course she gets into rat poison and has to be observed for an entire day, plus receive shots. She provides little joy to me, I am constantly asking "where's the dog"? For all those people like me who thought Marley and me was so sweet and they to would like to own a pet.... owning a pet is highly overrated and word to the wise... don't do it!

first pics of 2011

Ashlyn had an accident in her pants at school and I forgot to pack an outfit... so, here is what she looked like when I picked her up...clearly these were in the lost in found! She told me her new clothes were sooo soft.
I found these turbie towels at Kroger to wrap their hair in after tub time... they both want to be just like mommy and it is a pain to wrap a full sized towel on little heads.
The girls have had a few snow days already this year. I swear it takes me longer to get them dressed to go out then they actually spend out playing in the snow.

A Happy New Year!

Aren't we exciting! The girls and I were fast asleep way before the ball dropped this year... funny how New Year's takes on a different meaning as the years pass. Here is to a New Year full of good health and happiness !

Christmas Day!

Christmas day was a little crazy this year! Santa brought the girls a puppy and it has been the gift that keeps on giving...to say the least...(we will get back to her in a little while.) They received everything they asked for and more. We enjoyed time with family and they played with their toys until the wee hours of the night. I hope the joy of Christmas is always this wonderful...Ashlyn was so cute this year and Sophia was tearing through presents like a pro. They are already asking how far away are their birthdays!

Christmas eve

Ashlyn and Mommy
Santa and the reindeer gobbled up the cookies and carrots!

Christmas with Mimi was very intimate this year, but it was just as wonderful. Mimi had a litter of puppies so the girls were very preoccupied playing with them and then opening presents. They stayed up very late and went to Midnight mass, we got home, laid out cookies and milk for Santa, carrots for his reindeer and then off to bed to wait for Santa!

Great Wolf Lodge 2010

Sophia had a half day on the last Friday before Xmas break... so, we packed up and headed to Great wolf lodge for our trip. We have come every year for the last three years and hope to keep up the tradition. The girls had their fill of swimming (hopefully enough to last until the summer), they played video games, saw Santa, at pizza, got their face painted and drank hot cocoa...what a great weekend!

Welcome to the world little Brock!

Meet baby Brock...he was born Dec 10th 2010! Congrats to Uncle Luke and Aunt Amber on their beautiful baby boy!

Christmas with friends

Here we are at our Christmas party with friends . The kids love getting together and every year the volume is increasing. Sophia did wonderful with Santa as usual, but Ashlyn on the other hand told me he could keep his gift... because she was not sitting on his lap. Sophia asked for a Lalaloopsy doll...clearly the most ridiculous sought after toy. And after I told Ashlyn I was going to give her gift to Sophia, she decided a new toy didn't sound that bad.

Xmas fun

The girls making their annual Ginger bread houses. The both love doing crafts of any kind and crafts with candy rank pretty high on their list!

Let's catch up!

I left Ashlyn's rash medicine on her night stand before bed one night...clearly a huge mistake. She called for Toby to take her to the bathroom while I was folding laundry and he yelled down to me "ooohhh you have to see this"! Ashlyn had rash medicine all over her hair, face, bedding, PJ's and her baby! She had to get another bath at 10:00pm and the next day she still looked as if I had rubbed vaseline in her hair!
Legos are Sophia's new obsession! Here is one of Daddy and Sophie's creations!
We have been busy these last few months which left little time for blogging! The girls are doing great...Sophia and Ashlyn had a wonderful break with family!
