Summer here we come!

Gymnastics is finally over, here she is after she received her ribbon. We will start back up in the fall.

Sophia had her last soccer game of the season this weekend. At the end she received this adorable little soccer trophy. She did great this season...she kicked two goals! I was so proud. I have heard people say your twice has proud when your child does well. It is true...I felt my chest feathers ruffling up when she scored those goals, I even get excited when she kicks the ball!
Here she is running across the field to show us her trophy.
We are officially in summer mode... our schedule is finally clear and we can spend it at the pool! Have a great summer everyone!

Splash Park

I took the girls to the Splash park at the Zoo. What a nightmare! There were about 200 hundred little kids running around and no where to sit or park our wagon. Sophia played for about 2o minutes, then ate lunch and asked if we could go home. I always think to myself... are your kidding me? It takes me 4o minutes to get them dressed and packed to go anywhere and I pull them up and down hills to get to the middle of the Zoo where the Splash park is located only to stay for 20 minutes. Who ever said being a mother is a thankless job could not have been more right!

Ten

Here is Ashlyn making her "Zoolander face." Ashlyn with daddy at Sophia's soccer game.

Ashlyn your tenth month has flown by so quickly. I feel like I just updated your ninth month blog...and here we are again. You rocked back and forth for a couple weeks and have finally gained enough steam to crawl through the house. I know where you have been because there is a small path of destruction...drawers left open, my dish towel on the floor, remotes broken into small pieces, and the Mr. Potatoe head is dismembered all over the living room...just to name a few recent disasters. You put everything in your mouth...and I mean everything, from dust bunnies, pennies, bugs, and shoes. (and those are just the things I know about.)

You have also have gained two new teeth for a total count of 6 and have started to eat big girl food! Your new favorite food is bologna. Toby and I agree there must be a gene for liking bologna. I think it is one of those foods you are disgusted by or love. We all love bologna!

Although I see you growing and maturing into a toddler...you are still so delicate and sweet. I hope the sweetness will not fade as you grow. Ashlyn, you have touched my heart and soul..I know people say love is blind...well, my heart has definitley been blinded by you. I know every inch of you, I know the way you smell and I can feel your little hand in mine, and know what it is like to kiss those chubby cheeks. I am soaking all these moments into my heart and as your one year birthday approaches I feel myself getting very emotional. Yes, it is a huge milestone for you, but at the same time, my beautiful baby is growing up. It gives me a glimspe into my own mortality and it is not my birthdays that makes me feel older, but my children's. Is that weird? I always wondered if everyone feels that way. I realize our journey together has essentially just started ,but your sister's seems to be sprinting by me. And I cannot not rewind or DVR any moments with you or her and I think that is what makes me so sad. My mom always holds my hand and looks at it...I always thought she was so weird for doing it... but, I never asked why? Then I realized I do the exact same thing with the both of you. When I put your hands in mine I can see your first year, I remember you moving in my belly, I remember your delivery and bringing you home and all the wonderful things until now...so I can only imagine what my mother feels when she holds mine. Well, goodnight my little love bug! Before we know it your1st b-day will be upon us... I'll save my tears for then.

Nine

My favorite pics from her 9 month photo shoot.

Ashlyn, you are no longer the little baby that will sit contently in my arms. You are so eager to explore the world around you. You are constantly wiggling and squirming for me to let you down...and when I do, you scoot all over the place. I am always pulling you out from under the couch or the coffee table. You are also very fond of you sister's toys, which has caused you to take a few blows from big sister...you will be lucky to survive until your first birthday.
You are an early bird just like your daddy... thank goodness Sophia inherited my gene of sleeping late. So every morning I peel my body out of bed go to your bedside at 6:30am, and see your beautiful smiling face. I just sigh and think to myself... here's to another long day with two crazy girls. And although your sister drives me crazy and we are hitting some growing pains, I wouldn't change this time in my life for the world.
I have everything I have ever wanted. And although I am not happy all day everyday...I am happy for the day and the chance for me to be the mom you both deserve. I love you girls so much and just want you to know that even though sometimes I scream, yell and my bucket of patience runs dry...I am happy and grateful for every day.

Little Ashlyn

She is so sweet, squishy and adorable.
She eats everything-plastic bags, diapers, pencils, spoons and whatever else is laying around.
She gives smile only to a certain few. She appears to be very selective when it comes to her" in crowd".
Ashlyn wants desperately to crawl and even stand. Toby does better at working with her with standing. I just never thought she could do it, so I never tried... but once again I am wrong, and although she is not very steady, she is standing.
I love this picture! I took this at Sophia's first soccer game when he took a turn holding the baby. So sweet...she loves her daddy.

Pegasus Parade

I joined the Zaboronaks at the Pegasus Parade...it was a first for the girls and I. The weather was insane, very, very, windy. It was so windy the inflatable had to be taken down, so they pretty much just saw a lot of bands and horses. I do not know if I am a parade kinda girl.
The start of the parade.

Kelly Monoarchs

We started soccer this month. She is a Kelly Monarch and plays with a couple of kids from her Preschool class . We lucked into a good team, and although she has only kicked the ball total of 5 times, thus far, we are kill'em. They do not keep score, but I do and they are 2-0.
She had to have a pink ball to match her cleats. Who taught her about matching?
She looks happy here, but has said she "doesn't want to play anymore", every Saturday...it drives me crazy because she has asked me to enroll her forever. We have already had the talk about the Young's not being quitters.
