We are proud to announce that Ashlyn Elise is here!

6 pounds 9 ounces, 181/2 inches, born at 4:54pm

I am so glad she is finally here. It has been a long 9 months. The version was a success and although painful- helped me to avoid the dreaded c-section. Would I do it all over again? Probably, but next time I would ask for pain medication.
She was in the hospital with no name for about 24 hours until Toby decided to name her! We would like to introduce everyone to Ashlyn Elise Young. We love you!
It took forever to get to our postpartum room. We were both starving and tired by that time. Thanks Uncle Lucas for the food! We both agree she sort of looks like Sophia as a newborn, but her hair is darker.
She is so sweet and tiny that Sophia looks like a giant compared to her.

Big Sister Sophia

Sophia was a little confused about the baby. I told her the baby was not in Mommy's belly, but now is in the bassinet. Her response was "it came out of your mouth!" Toby and I were like if you are willing to accept that explanation. Then absolutely, Mommy threw up the baby.

Going Home!

Today we are finally going home. What has only been two days has felt like an eternity. Sophia and daddy are here to get us and we are very excited to be home all together.
Sophia and Ashlyn in the car. Maybe too close for comfort-they were right on top of each other.
Ashlyn is home with us and we are eager to unpack and rest.

Settling in.

We are settling in and Ashlyn is fitting in quite nice. She is so far, very low maintenance. Thank goodness because her sister takes up a lot of time. She does a lot of eating and sleeping ... the newborn norm! I am anxious to see how she develops.
Daddy's girl? We will see.
Life is great! We are happy and feel very blessed that everything went as planned. Thank you to all our family and friends for the well wishes, gifts and food! You have made her birth and our homecoming wonderful. We will update as soon as we can! Take care!

Happy Birthday Sophie!

We had a bunch of balloons blown up and put them in her room before she woke up!
Our sleeping Birthday Princess!
A friend I work with made her Birthday cake! It was better than I could have imagined-everyone loved it. Thanks so much Melanie!
Sophie and Daddy with her Princess Castle Cake.
Sophia with Mimi and Papaw
Sophia with Grandma
Sophie with her Poppa
I had a princess outfit made for her with these glitter shoes- she called them her glass slippers-soooo cute!

She received tons of fun presents and her friend Chris was a great present helper!
Everyone on her new Playset.
All the princesses together!

Sophia did really well blowing out the candles. Although, Toby had to remind her not to spit on the cake!
The boys closed the party down by chasing Uncle Luke's dog around with their gigantic swords.
After the party was over her and Luke played dress up, it was a perfect end to a great day! Happy Birthday baby- We love you XOXOXOXO!

My First "Slip n Slide"

Grandma bought her a small pool to play with outside. Although it is very small she seemed to enjoy it!

Mommy and Daddy's Big helper!

We got her Dora gardening gloves and she loves to help me plant and water the flowers.

She was helping daddy build his house. (When in fact it was her Playset for her upcoming birthday.) I think she drove him absolutely crazy with her Elmo hammer and Cookie Monster screwdriver, but he was a good sport!
